Local 229 has changed the day of the monthly membership meetings to the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6pm, at the Union Hall located at 5155 Mercury Point, San Diego, CA 92111. All members in good standing are welcome to attend.

Allocations are as follows: Wages  $1.00

Annuity $.75

Vacation $.25

Health & Welfare $.25

Local 229 provides the best-trained craftspeople in structural, reinforcing and ornamental ironwork, as well as rigging, metal buildings and machinery moving. Their projects cover a geographic area that includes both San Diego and Imperial counties.


FYI: Effective Immediately: Section 7 in our by laws state that any active member on the A-1 out of work list and Apprentice list MUST notify the hall before 12pm, noon on Friday to remain on the Out of Work list.

Office sign in hours are Monday – Thursday 6:30am – 3:30pm, Friday 6:30am to 12pm.

Active JIW already on the out of work list can email us at info@local229.org or by Fax (858) 571-6203 by noon on Friday.

OUT OF WORK LIST E-MAIL; INFO@LOCAL229.ORG is the ONLY E-Mail that will accept a request to keep your number in place on the Out Of Work List.

ANY request sent to ANY other E-mail address will not be a valid request. You must already have a number on the out of work list to sign in via email. It is advised that you copy yourself on your E-mail request and keep records of your E-mail requests.
